I’ve been with Carolina Pediatric Therapy for six years now, and I’ve been an OT for eight years. I love being an occupational therapist and being able to really work one-on-one with children and their families. I find it very rewarding to make those connections with families and to really find out what they’re looking for, what do they need help with, and see what I have to offer that can really further them to meet the goals that they have for their kids and for their families and for their futures. We have an impact on a small level, for therapist to the child they’re working with, but then it expands to the family and then the teachers and then everyone that is a part of the community as a whole.
We are lucky to have quite a diverse team. For our OT team we have some new grads on our team and then we also have some that have lots of experience, very seasoned. So no matter what your skill or experience is coming on, we provide a support system for all new hires. At Carolina Peds, we have a lot of collaboration among the disciples. So we make it as easy as possible for our therapists to be able to communicate with each other, especially if they share the same clients.
I think that we’re really unique that we can really utilize the skillset of both new graduates and seasoned therapists. We love having new grads come onboard and really share the newest, latest and greatest information that they’ve learned in school, with the energy to share that with the team. We also love having seasoned therapists that have just tons of experience and have learned through trial and error, and have taken continuing education courses and can really sow that back into the rest of our team. So we have a place for everyone.
