An occupational therapist can address a variety of specific challenges. Occupational therapy is centered around helping people participate in their everyday activities to their best ability. During the first session which is the Evaluation, the caregivers, child and OT develop goals together to focus on certain areas. These specific goals may include anything from learning to tie shoes, hold a pencil, catch a ball, decrease frustration to identifying sensory strategies to help the child participate in activities more easily.
