Playdough Letters

SKILL AREAS ADDRESSED:

  • Bilateral Coordination
  • Fine Motor
  • Sensory Processing (tactile and proprioception)
  • Visual Perception
  • Early learner skills (alphabet/spelling)

    MATERIALS NEEDED:
  • Play dough
    *If you don't have play dough you can use.
  • String or Yarn
  • Floam or Putty

    ACTIVITY STEPS:
    1) Using two hands, roll play dough into long and short sticks.
    2)Form letters to spell words, your child’s name, shapes, etc.

    ACTIVITY TIPS:
  • Write out letters (3-4” tall) on a paper first for kiddo to put playdough on top of if the task is too challenging for your child.
  • Have your child trace over the playdough letters with their finger once complete to increase memory and teach proper writing form (i.e. start from top, etc.)
